Cramming and Anticipation

Tonight I am leaving on a jet plane for California adventures of the non-Disney variety.  I’m pretty excited.

Today I’m trying to wrap up 3 days of work in 1 day…which is now about 1/2 a day.  This involves pestering for data for 2 projects, managing 3 people for 5 projects (4 of which are urgent priority), and finishing another huge project (using a mapping file that does not exist) in the remaining 4 hours of my day.  Oh joy.

In some ways, the lost work seems worth it…sunny weather, temple, Wicked, and spontaneous adventures.  And yet I’m anticipating this trip so much that I’m anticipating disaster of some sort.  If so, is the stress of cramming too much work into too little time worth it?

I don’t know, but either way I’m going.  However, it makes me wonder.  Wonder so much that I can’t even focus on the consolidated 20 hours of work ahead of me.

On the plus side, my sister’s coming up for lunch.  Hooray!
